How to fight a cold naturally and early. If you always seem to be recovering from one cold, and then coming down with another cold or infection time and time again, your immune system could probably do with some strengthening.

Your Immune System Needs Strengthening

Or perhaps you find that you easily catch a cold or an infection when anyone around has got one? A strong immune system is import to help fight off infections and diseases.

You may then wonder how to fight a cold really. The solution is simple – it lies in getting your immune system stronger. The good news is that, you are in control to a large extent; because your diet plays a massive role in it.

What you eat and how you prepare your food will affect how you feel and how strong your immune system is. Your immune system is what helps you fight anything and every disease from common cold to cancer.

So if you are bugged down with a cold or an illness today, the reason why that has happened is because your immune system was not strong enough to fight it off. And the only thing that can strengthen our immune system is the food we eat. Vitamin supplements are good, but are exactly what they are called – just supplements. They are not replacements.

Where Do Nutrients and Nutrition Come In?

The other fact you need to know regarding how to fight a cold is to do with nutrition. When we eat, the body does not care about how nice the food tastes or how good it smells. The only things the body cares about are the vitamins, minerals and nutrients in the food. I always say if the body had a radio station, it would have to be called WIFM – “What’s In It For Me”! When the food gets in the body, the body looks for the vitamins and minerals in it. The body tries to break down the food to get hold of these nutrients through the digestion process.

If the body finds it hard to break down the food, (for example, fried foods), it stores the food in some part of the body; and then sends a message to the brain to say “I need more vitamins and minerals”. Guess how we interpret that? We are hungry! So we go and eat the same things all over again! When in fact all the body needed was simply nutritious food, not quantity-wise, but quality-wise. You might have heard the saying that we eat with our eyes. The irony of it though, is that wedigest with our stomachs!

When you start eating nutrition-packed food instead, you will find that you will naturally strengthen your immune system. You will no longer have to worry about how to fight a cold. Why?

Because the cold will not be there as often as it is now! In fact, you will rarely be affected by a cold. You will also find that you are not able to eat as much as you normally eat.

The reason is that, once the body has had enough nutrients, vitamins and minerals, you automatically start feeling that you are filled up, but not bloated. All that bloating you normally experience will disappear or reduce substantially. The same goes for indigestion. You will start to experience more regular bowel movements.

Bottom Line…

So, what’s the bottom line on how to fight a cold? Simply strengthen your immune system! Improve your healthy eating habits. At that stage, would you not start to feel that life is even better? Is it not worth changing your nutritional food intake for your health? I say it is; what do you say?
